Announcing the Debut of kitcreations.com !!

I am so very excited that my new venture is up and running!!! I have a new store/website Called Kit Creations where I'll be selling scrapbook/papercrafting kits!! You've seen lots of my projects, and class kits... Well, these are just like them, but made up in kit form... All the parts and pieces in the kit are pre-cut and ready to assemble, with color pictures and instructions... Just add adhesive and photos!! For anyone in the local area, there's a free-pickup option, and for everyone else (US and Canada only for now... I'm looking at adding international at some point) shipping is flat rate based on how much you spend in the store...  I hope you'll check out the store and take a look around... If there's a subject you'd like to see made into a kit, please let me know!!  There's a brand new "Exploding Box" kit coming next week... Using fabulously fun My Mind's Eye papers! **Any kits ordered this week will be shipped Saturday, July 11th because of the long holiday weekend**

Come check out the store at www.kitcreations.com

Happy Birthday Sean!!!

I can NOT believe that my first little baby (ok, he was never really little) is 8 years old today!!! All the actual baby pics were pre-digital camera, I have a couple that I really NEED to scan... But here's a couple of older digital layouts featuring my chunky-monkey (don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks!!), and then a pic from just a couple weekends ago...

Another weekend of "Stay-Cation"

This summer we're planning to be home, and see lots of things around here (hence last weekend's venture into Boston). Well, this weened, right here in town, there was a Revolutionary War Re-Enactment!! It's the town's 275th anniversary this year, and it was part of the festivities :)  Here's just a couple pics... I have a ton more (ummm... I took 230+ photos...) I'll try to post a few more later :)

A Pot of Gold...

We had SUCH a fun weekend... We went to Boston, climbed to the top of the Bunker Hll Monument, toured the Constitution, went to Fanuel Hall, then today we went to Southwick Zoo... I have LOTS of photos to share, but had to share this one right away... It looked a little stormy on our way home, so we stopped to eat while the worst of the storm passed... then on our way home ... look what we found!!!

When I Grow Up...

I know I've been a very bad blogger :) Spring has been very busy!!! Lots of projects going on... But I had to share this story...

We were riding along in the car, and Sean piped up from the back seat... "Mom, when I grow up, I wanna be a Rock Star!"

So, I said, "Cool, sound like a fun job!!"

Kathryn says "I know what I wanna be, but I can't be what I wanna be..."

So, being "uber Mom" I immediately launch into "well, of COURSE you can grow up to be whatever you want to be!!!  It wasn't too long ago that Barack Obama wouldn't have been allowed to vote, but he's the president of the United States now... Of Course you can be anything!!!"

I wait a minute, and say "Honey, what did you want to be when you grow up?"

Her answer: "A Mermaid"

ummmm... well, hmmmm, OK, maybe you can't be a MERMAID... ummmm...  We can take swimming lessons, and learn to swim like a mermaid :) Note to Self: I need to wait before I launch into the speech :)

So she decided... Now she's going to be either a Princess or a Fairy...  Ok :)

I loved my Gram...

I lost my Gram this morning...  She was 97 and I think the spunkiest person I've ever known... She would always let you know exactly what she was thinking it, when she was thinking it (OK, so this isn't always the best thing :) Especially when you're walking through Walmart, and Gram tells you EXACTLY what she thinks of the outfit of the person standing in front of you in line... But, afterall, she was only saying what I was thinking :) )  She's had a very difficult year, and I know that she is finally at peace and happy... Up until last spring, I always said that she was sharper than me... She had an incredible life, and I'm so glad I was a part of it... But I am incredibly sad... She's a pretty special lady...

This is a pic of Gram with the kids, it was taken in 2007, but the quickest one I could find this morning...

My Own Punky Brewster...

I can't be the only one that remembers that show, right??  Well, I believe I have my own Punky Brewtser living here in my house :) Here was Kathryn's outfit for the day... Pink glitter shirt, flower applique jeans, Green mini skirt, pink Crocs, and to make her mother happy, a yellow sweatshirt... It's not short-sleeve weather yet... To top it off, pink sunglasses and visor...  She must get her fashion sense from her Dad ;)

Karhtyn

Although it may not be short-sleeve weather... It was sunny, and we went out to play... We picked up some squirt guns at the dollar store the other day, and they had a ball squirting each other!!  The only rule... Don't shoot Mama, 'cause she has the camera!!

Try the "Fake Crying Thing"

So last night Mike and I were going to a fundraising dance...  On Wednesday, Kathryn and I were walking in Andover Center while we waited for Sean to come out of school... We walked past a little boutique dress shop that had THE CUTEST dress in the window... I figured, what the heck, it can't hurt to try it on, right??  So, the next day, after I got Sean, we went in... I talked to the very nice sales person, and she said that they had just come in the day before and it made her smile, so she had to put it up in the window :)  Anyway, she has it in my size, and she sets up the dressing room... Well, I start to put it on and I see the price tag... ummmmm... $485.   OMG... So, I'm there, and I still try it on... It's really fabulous!!  The sales person took a peek and agreed :) Anyway, I thanked her for her time, hung it back up and we went back to the car :)  That's just silly, I didn't pay that much for my wedding dress!!!  Anyway, we're in the car on the way home and I said "So guys, do you think daddy will give me $500 to buy a pretty dress???"  And Sean chimes in from the back seat... "Mama, you should try the Fake Crying Thing... That always works with Daddy"

OMGosh, I nearly drove off the road!!!  They know they've got Daddy wrapped around their little fingers :)  Oh, and I tried it, and I guess it only works with the kids :) I wore last year's Christmas Concert dress to the party, and looked very pretty for  whole lot less than $485 :)

The Birthday Bike

Kathryn got a new "big girl" bike for her birthday... Today it was finally warm enough to actually go out and ride it, just in the driveway for a few minutes...  It was in the mid 50s, but there's still plenty of snow :)

Sean was outside playing with us too :)
